WATCH: Cop ejects disruptive Rangers fan during Game 4 against Panthers, gets serenaded on his way out
A cop kicked out a disruptive New York Rangers fan during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals.
On Tuesday, the Rangers were in Florida to play the Panthers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals.
During the game, a Rangers fan was disruptive in the crowd. So a cop was assigned to escort him out. As the fan was leaving, Panthers fans gave him a standing ovation. A user named 'vektorious' shared the incident through a video on X.
Panthers fans had a good cheer with the Rangers fan being kicked out for causing trouble, especially while New York was the visiting team. However, it isn't clear from the video how the fan was disruptive.
Panthers even series with Rangers
The Florida Panthers defeated the New York Rangers in overtime in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals to even the series 2-2.
Florida had lost the previous two games in overtime, but despite that, the Panthers were confident with Game 4 going to OT.
“Confidence was good," forward Sam Reinhart said, via NHL.com. “When the game is tight and with the way we play, we’re going to generate chances. The more we can stick with it, the more we can stick to our structure, the more comfortable we’ll be, and you’ve got to believe that one is going to go in."
The Rangers were disappointed with how they played as they felt like they struggled in the second period when Florida took the lead.
“I think we sat back a little bit in the second and allowed them to kind of dictate the period," New York forward Mika Zibanejad said. “We played a pretty good first period, set ourselves up. The second period was not what we wanted."
"Good job in the third tying the game up and giving ourselves a chance. Overall, not the result we wanted. It’s best-of-3. We go home and try to take care of Game 5.”
Game 5 of the series is set for Thursday at 8 p.m. ET in New York.
