WATCH: Maple Leafs' $15M star Max Domi undergoes vigorous off-season training

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi is undergoing off-season training presently. He is working with Brian Kula, a professional coach who helps athletes in pushing their limits. Kula runs Kula Sports Performance and they use scientific methods to train athletes.

'Kula Sports Performance' Instagram page shared a video of Domi training and captioned it thus:

"@max of the @mapleleafs in from 🇨🇦 to work with @briankula to maximize athletic potential in a relentless pursuit to be the best! This unit hit 20.9 MPH 😳 SPEED KILLS."

In the video, Max Domi was running fast on a treadmill, training for a fast sprint. He was working out with barbells, focused on his leg muscles, core, biceps and shoulders.

Domi was also seen doing squats with heavy barbell weights on his shoulders. Next, he was seen doing shoulder workouts with dumbells and also trained using different workouts for calf muscles.

Max Domi signed a four-year extension while forward Mitch Marner is still waiting for an extension

On July 1, Max Domi signed a four-year, $15 million contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The deal averages $3.75 million a year. Domi, who was close to becoming a free agent, will remain with the team for the next four seasons.

He scored 47 points, including nine goals and 38 assists, across 80 regular-season games last season. In the playoffs, he scored four points in seven games. Domi was pleased after signing his new contract.

"It's great,” Domi said on July 1 (via NHL.com). "It's a blessing in disguise that I've had lots of opportunities to play around the League and play with lots of great teammates and learn from a lot of awesome coaches, so you gain a lot of experience that way, which is very valuable. Part of me bouncing around was me always trying to end up here and [I] was lucky enough to get the opportunity last year."

The 29-year-old enjoyed his time with the team last year, despite the first-round playoff exit after losing to the Boston Bruins.

He is grateful for the chance to stay longer with the organization. But the same is not the case with Leafs' forward Mitch Marner.

Marner is in his last year of contract, signed in 2019. And after July 1, he is eligible for a contract extension. However, there are many rumors pointing towards a trade for Marner.
