Watch: Rangers’ Matt Rempe cracks up teammates with jokes at Shoulder Check charity game

At a recent charity event, the annual Shoulder Check Showcase, New York Rangers' Matt Rempe entertained his teammates with jokes and playful antics. A video shared by BarDown on X (formerly Twitter) showed his lively commentary and the fun moments he shared with his teammates.

During the event, Rempe's interactions stood out. His jokes included lines like,

"Who's going next? Chippy? I want to be on the line with you, Chippy. You got it. I believe in you. You've earned your meal. You've earned your meal. You've earned your meal. Did he try to buy you a sandwich? He bought me a couple, actually," Rempe said.

He also encouraged his teammates and teased them about their skills. Rempe joked about a wardrobe malfunction, saying,

"Chippy, are we taking a shift here together? Let's go make some let's go make some plays, Chippy. Whoa. The pants would have loved it. I almost bare here behind the accident, leaving a hat. Oh, God. Kreds. I want to see you do that. I want to see you do that.... Nice, boy. Oh, you got a nice one too, cry. Not as nice as mine," Rempe added.

Rempe uses his size and physicality on the ice but keeps things light off of it. At 6-foot-7, he’s known for his fighting skills, such as his debut fight against Matt Martin in the 2024 NHL Stadium Series.

Drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Rempe has played in 17 games with the Rangers.

Matt Rempe teams up with Chris Kreider for offseason training

Matt Rempe has been in the news this offseason for his proactive training efforts. After working with NHL veteran Georges Laraque, he's now set to train with Chris Kreider.

“I’m going to stay right here and train with Kreids the rest of the summer,” Rempe said.

The New York Rangers enforcer wants to expand his role beyond physical play. After the Rangers lost in the Eastern Conference Final, 21-year-old Rempe expressed his desire to improve all aspects of his game.

“I want to go in there, earn a role, go in there, take strides from last year and go into camp, work my bag off every day and show them I can be an effective player and show that I’ve taken big steps from last season,” Rempe told The New York Post's Larry Brooks. “I’ve got to earn it, I have to earn everything. I’m excited to do that.”

Matt Rempe's choice to train with Kreider will be beneficial for him as he aims to secure a more significant role with the team next season.
