It was a night to remember for the Toronto Six, as they won their first Isobel Cup by beating the Minnesota Whitecaps on Sunday (March 26).
The Six won it in overtime through a goal from Tereza Vanisova, winning 4-3 after a pulsating contest.

It was a thrilling game, with six goals scored in regular time. Toronto scored the first goal in the first period of play through Michela Cava and Dominika Laskova.
The Whitecaps responded the fifth minute of the second period to make it 1-1. The two teams traded the next four goals, requiring overtime, where the Six sealed the contest.
What is the Isobel Cup?
The cup is named after Lady Isobel Gathorne-Hardy, daughter of Lord Stanley (former Governor-General of Canada). She's one of the first known women to play the sport.
The competition is an annual affair since its inception in 2016 and is organized by the Premier Hockey Federation. It takes place in a league format, where teams from the United States and Canada participate, like in the NHL.
How have Toronto Six and Minnesota Whitecaps performed this season?
The Toronto Six had a great season, finishing second in the league stage. They performed well offensively and defensively, maintaining a goal differential of 25.
On offense, the Six scored 87 goals in 24 regular season games, thanks to contributions from Brittany Howard and Shiann Darkangelo. Howard topped the team's scoring charts with 16 goals and assisted ten.
On the defensive front, Toronto Six allowed 62 goals in 24 games, conceding less than three goals per game on average. Elaine Chuli had a crucial role on defense, allowing just 2.61 goals per game and saving 91.7% of the shots.
Meanwhile, the Whitecaps ended the regular season at 43 points. Surprisingly they qualified for the playoffs with a negative goal difference, allowing 66 against 58 scored.
Natalie Snodgrass and Jonna Albers contributed 40 goals. Goaltender Amanda Leveille played most games for the Whitecaps and did a decent job, allowing just 2.43 goals with a save percentage of 0.923.
