The hockey world has been buzzing on social media about Bruins forward Trent Frederic's fight against Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson.

Many Bruins supporters praised Trent Frederic for sticking up for rookie teammate Matt Poitras after a big hit from Larsson.

One fan posted on X (formerly Twitter:,

"I’ve been saying that’s what Frederick needs to do when necessary. Don’t ASK! That’s what needed to happen opening night w the Champs after getting punked last year!!!"

Another fan wrote,

"Exactly his role. Nice job."

Another wrote,

"Good teammate."

However, not all fans agreed with Frederic's actions. Some called out the forward for instigating a fight following a legal check.

"The league really needs to start suspending players for fighting after clean hits…." one fan wrote on X.
"Clean hit and classless move by Frederic going after and repeatedly punching with the refs in between with a guy who never fights. You don’t see Frederic doing that either anyone who drops the mitts regularly." another user wrote.
"Poitras needs to go to Providence. He is gonna get hurt again! Some of these young players that come to the big league are not ready physically. Get him strong and confident then give him a chance. Otherwise risk serious injury." a user commented.

Next up, the Bruins will face their Atlantic rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs, on Tuesday night.
