WATCH: Trevor Zegras scores Michigan goal for second lacrosse-style goal of the night following Connor Bedard

Trevor Zegras scored a Michigan goal past Kraken's Joey Daccord taking his count of "Michigan" goals up to three. His lacross-style goal was the second one of Saturday night, following Connor Bedard's against St. Louis Blues.

Zegras' Michigan came during the third period when the Ducks were down 3-1 with 6:15 left. He skated from the right side of the ice, all the way behind the Kraken net, scopped the puck onto his stick, guided it above Daccord's right shoulder and inside the net.

The Seattle Kraken defenders were not guarding Trevor Zegras as he came from behind the net and Zegras took the advantage to pull off an impressive lacross-style goal.

Trevor Zegras' first Michigan goal in the NHL was against the Montreal Canadiens in January 2022. His second was against the Arizona Coyotes on April 1, 2022.

Tonight's game was the 22-year old forward's return to the Ducks lineup after missing twenty games due to a lower-budy injury. In 13 games played this season, Zegras has three points from two goals and one assist.

Trevor Zegras breaksdown his "Michigan" goal

In the post-game interview, Zegras explained his thought process and brokedown the play that led to his third "Michigan" goal in NHL career. He said,

"It was kind of a broken play, Minty (Pavel Mintyukov) kinda dinked it off the wall and they (Kraken) protect in front of the net really well, that was something that was talked about obviously in the pre-scout. So, when I went behind the net, something obviously I felt comfortable doing. In my opinion, it's not like a crazy play for me to do. When that goalie goes post-to-post, you usually get a little room upstairs. So, lucky enough it went in."

Anaheim Ducks' attempt at a comeback after the Zegras goal was shut down by Joey Daccord and the Seattle Kraken.

Oliver Bjorkstrand and Vince Dunn opened the scoring for Seattle in the first period to which Anaheim had no answer. The second period saw Frank Vatrano's power play goal which made the score 2-1, heading into the third period.

Latest addition to the lineup, Tomas Tatar scored 8:25 into the third period and gave the Kraken a comfortable two-goal lead at 3-1. At the 14-minute mark, Trevor Zegras pulled off the flashy "Michigan" goal.

The stars of the match were Joey Daccord (three stars) with 32 saves and .941 SV%, Vince Dunn (two stars) with one goal and two assists and Trevor Zegras (one star) with one goal.

Last night was the first of four scheduled meetings between the two teams in the 2023-24 NHL regular season. The next three games are scheduled for 27th March, 29th March and 6th April, next year.
