WWE star Cody Rhodes honored with personalized Edmonton Oilers jersey at Rogers Place
WWE star Cody Rhodes was honored with a personalized Edmonton Oilers jersey on Friday at Rogers Place.
Rhodes, who was in town for WWE's Friday Night SmackDown event, received an Oilers jersey with his last name and jersey number 51 on the back.
The special jersey presentation highlights the collaboration between the Oilers and Rhodes. Last month, a t-shirt was unveiled featuring both the Edmonton Oilers and Rhodes’s quote "Finish the Story" written across the front.
The quote references Rhodes' inspirational comeback story, winning the WrestleMania XL championship that his late father, Dusty Rhodes, never achieved.
Fresh from defending his championship against Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin, Cody Rhodes became the target of Solo Sikoa from The Bloodline on Friday. Sikoa made his intentions clear that he was coming for the new champion and he tried to brawl with Rhodes on SmackDown.
Cody Rhodes is now set for a Steel Cage title match on WWE SmackDown next week.
