Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump has become the 47th President of the United States. NHL legend Wayne Gretzky’s wife Janet was among the first group of A-listers who congratulated the President.
On Wednesday, Janet Gretzky posted a reel compilation of slides on her Instagram account, sharing special moments of their family with Donald Trump. The Gretzkys are quite close with the American billionaire and the NHL legend has been golf buddies with Trump.
In the caption of her post, Janet Gretzky congratulated the new US President on winning the elections and expressed her good wishes. She wrote:
“Congratulations Mr. President Donald J Trump ♥️🤍💙🇺🇸 You did it, You deserved it , you earned every bit of it . The world is a better place to have you as our Leader , Proud to be an American . Thank you for being such a great friend . May God keep watching over you ♥️🙏🏻♥️ Love our family to yours !”
Among the slides from the reel, she snared snaps from the election night Republican Party gathering that the Gretzky family attended. She also added a few throwback pictures of Wayne Gretzky and Donald Trump, and also of herself with the now-US President.
Wayne Gretzky and family attended Donald Trump’s private Republican Party gathering
On Tuesday, Wayne Gretzky and his family were spotted at a private election night gathering hosted by Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. The high-profile event attracted several famous personalities, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, UFC President Dana White and professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau among others.
Gretzky’s eldest daughter Paulina shared a group photo of their family from the gathering on her Instagram. In the picture, Paulina posed alongside her brother Trevor, her husband Dustin Johnson, her mother Janet and dad Wayne Gretzky.
Trevor Gretzky even wore a red "Make America Great Again" hat on the occasion. The Gretzky family dressed elegantly, with Paulina in a beige dress, Janet in black, and both Dustin and Wayne in classic black evening suits.
The private event reportedly featured a dinner and setups for guests to watch live updates on the election. The security was understandably tight with so many high-profile celebrities gathering in support of the Republican. There reportedly were bomb-sniffing dogs and restricted VIP access to maintain the safety of all high-profile attendees.
