"4 months ago in Ostrawa" - Zach Werenski

Zach Werenski's fiancée Odette Peters recalls special moments with Johnny Gaudreau and wife Meredith

Odette Peters, Zach Werenski's fiancee, had a relationship with Johnny Gaudreau and his wife Meredith. Werenski and Gaudreau were teammates during what turned out to be the late star's final hockey season before his tragic death.

Peters shared a couple of photos to her Instagram story, one of which showcased a night out on the town, a double date, possibly. Gaudreau and his wife Meredith, who recently revealed that she's pregnant with her third child, were walking ahead of Peters.

She captioned the touching photo of the late Gaudreau and his wife:

"4 months ago today in Ostrava."

She also shared a photo of Meredith in the stands during a Columbus Blue Jackets game. Meredith was wearing a jersey of her husband's as she cheered for his team.

Gaudreau died Aug. 29 in a fatal road accident. The hockey world mourned his and his brother's sudden and shocking death after they were hit by a drunk driver.

Johnny Gaudreau honored by Matthew Tkachuk as well

Zach Werenski's fiancee isn't the only who shared their memories with Johnny Gaudreau. Matthew Tkachuk, a former teammate of Gaudreau's, called the late former Calgary Flames star the most gifted offensive player he'd seen.

Via the Daily Mail, Tkachuk reflected on the loss:

"It was such an honor to play with him. And you guys all saw what he did on the ice. I was the lucky one out of everybody in this room to have a great relationship with him off. So those are the memories I will take. But it's been terrible. It really has."

The two players spent time on the ice for six seasons with the Flames. Tkachuk also said that Gaudreau was one of his "favorite" teammates and was a "great friend."

The Florida Panthers star added it didn't matter if one knew the brothers or played against either of them. If anyone has a sibling, they could relate to the tragic incident, which he called "terrible" on numerous occasions.
