Lukas Rousek of the Buffalo Sabres made history with a goal in the first period and an assist in the second in his NHL debut.
Rousek's goal came in the first period of the game as he put the puck in the net through assists from Tyson Jost and Owen Power. He is now the fourth-fastest goal scorer(3:49) for Sabres after Danny Gare (18 seconds), Alexander Mogilny (20 seconds), and Denis Hamel (2:09).

The game saw both teams canceling each other out to determine the result with the shootouts. The Habs took an early lead from the goal through Jordan Harris, but Lukas Rousek equalized for the Sabres to end the first period 1-1.
Even though Montreal scored first in the second period, Buffalo dominated the game to win the period 2-1. It was a better defensive display from the Habs in the third period to take it to overtime. Both teams failed to score in the shootout, but the Canadiens scored two for the win.
