"Da baddest" - Masai Russell shares special moment with Angel Reese during Ravens blowout win over Bills
Olympic champion hurdler Masai Russell was recently seen at the NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills. Baltimore had little trouble against the Bills, beating the latter by a convincing margin 35-10.
However, that wasn't the only highlight of the game. Basketball player Angel Reese, who plays for the Chicago Sky, came out in support of her home team Baltimore Ravens, and had a great time with Russell, as well as with the home team.
Russell shared some photographs on her Instagram stories with the Baltimore Ravens, as well as with Reese. One of these was a re-share of Reese's Instagram story of a selfie of the two. Russell wrote as a caption,
"Da baddest"
Russell and Reese weren't the only guests of honor at the Baltimore Ravens' game against the Buffalo Bills. Olympic champion sprinter Quincy Wilson was also invited to the game by the home team. The 400m sprinter, who was a school-level football player, had earlier attended a practice session with the Ravens.
Masai Russell also shared some photographs with Wilson. The two are showing off their Olympic gold medals to the home crowd. She captioned the Instagram post,
"Happy game day at the crib 💜🖤 Thank you @ravens & @nbc ✨"
Interestingly, Russell and Wilson have one thing in common apart from Olympic gold. Both have been students of the Bullis School in Maryland, and both have honed their athletic skills under the tutelage of Joe Lee. Russell graduated back in 2018, while Quincy Wilson is still studying at the Bullis School.
Masai Russell on her most successful season so far
Masai Russell has had one of the most successful seasons of her athletic career this year. A few days ago, Russell had taken part at the much talked about Athlos NYC meet in the women's 100m hurdles event. Despite her best efforts, the American hurdler could only manage third position, with a timing of 12.44 seconds.
Former Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico won the race with a timing of 12.36 seconds, followed by Russell's teammate Alaysha Johnson, who edged her out for second position with a timing of 12.43 seconds.
However, despite the setback, Russell was far from disappointed. The Olympic champion recently took to Instagram to reflect upon her journey this year.
Russell wrote in her Instagram post,
"Rookie season was a dream 🤝🏽God showed me just a preview of what’s to come. See yall on the track next season 😘

Masai Russell began her year with a close miss at the World Indoor Athletics Championships. However, she made her presence felt at the US Olympic Track and Field trials, as she won the race with a timing of 12.25 seconds, in a world-leading time.
Russell then participated at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she faced intense competition from hurdlers like Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, and Cyrena-Samba Mayela of France. However, she edged out all of them to win the Olympic gold medal with a timing of 12.33 seconds.
Russell subsequently participated in the Diamond League, where she stood fourth in the Silesia meet, second in the Rome meet, and third in the Zurich meet. However, she couldn't gather enough points to qualify directly for the finals.
