Merritt Beason shares advice for upcoming volleyball aspirants
Merritt Beason recently opened up about two that she thinks young volleyball players should maintain to gain success.
In an interview just ahead of her first pro season, Beason advised that aspiring volleyball players must train in all the positions and not compare one's journey to another. Additionally, she also remarked that she and her interview partner, Taya Baller had to play out of their position for the sake of the team. She said (via Atlanta Vibe YouTube,3:50 onwards):
"I have two I would say, one to like train every skill and every position, I think we both have kind of been in positions where you are asked to play like different positions and you never know what coach or what program is going to need you to do. I'd say that's my first and my second piece of advice would be to not compare your path to anyone else's."
Her partner, Taya Baller is a middle blocker and is a former prodigy at Wayne State College. She has played just two sets for her pro team, Atlanta Vibe so far in the season and has inflicted three kills.
