"I fell in love then and I'm sure he did too"- Olympic gold medalist Tara Davis-Woodhall opens up on meeting her husband Hunter
Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall have been making headlines, warming the hearts of fans following their passionate moment towards each other at the Paris Olympic Games. After Davis-Woodhall won the gold medal in the women’s long jump, she ran towards her husband Hunter who was waiting on her with open arms.
However, many might not be aware of how the love story between Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall began. In an interview with The Games On podcast, the reigning Olympic champion narrated how their love story unfolded.
Tara Davis-Woodhall disclosed that she met her now husband Hunter Woodhall in 2017 at a track meet and it was a love-at-first-sight affair for her. She believes Hunter Woodhall felt the same towards her. She disclosed that meeting at the event was one of the foundations of their relationship and is a part of them to date.
"Absolutely it did. We met in 2017 when we were both in high school at a track meet. I mean, I fell in love then and I'm sure he did too," Davis-Woodhall said.
"He told his friend that he wanted to marry me before. So, I don't know, I feel like track did bring us together and we're doing our track life and track goals and those are always going to be a thing in our lives. But we have other aspirations and right now, it's going to be being a K-State coach," she added.

Tara Davis-Woodhall stole the show at the Paris Olympics as she ran towards her husband Hunter Woodhall after winning the women’s long jump gold medal.
After Tara Davis-Woodhall embraced Hunter, he said:
"Babe, you’re the Olympic champion!"
In an interview with PEOPLE, the American star explained that she was not expecting the moment to go viral. The 25-year-old noted that her husband is her greatest cheerleader and that was a raw moment.
"I haven’t been on social media that much, so I don’t know how viral it’s gone! Everyone’s been telling me the whole world’s been seeing it, [but] that’s just Hunter and I. He’s my biggest supporter, and I guess the whole world got to see how much he supports me," she said.
Meanwhile, at the Paris Olympic Games, Davis-Woodhall was flawless as she claimed the Olympic gold medal in the women’s long jump. She cleared an astonishing 7.10m to finish first ahead of Malaika Mihambo, who cleared 6.98m. Another American, Jasmine Moore rounded up the podium in 6.96m.
Davis-Woodhall has since been confirmed for the Diamond League Meeting in Rome on August 30.
