"I'm just trying to bounce back after not making the Olympic team"- Tamari Davis weighs in on her second-place finish at the Lausanne Diamond league
2023 World Championships gold medalist, Tamari Davis, recently opened up about her performances in the Women's 100m of the Lausanne Diamond League meet 2024. This comes just after Davis clinched a silver medal in the event at the Pontaise Olympic Stadium.
Davis clocked an impressive run time of 10.97 seconds to touch the finishing line in second position. Even though it was 0.06 seconds short of her season-best run time (10.91 seconds), it was enough to give her a podium finish in the 11th Diamond League meet of the 2024 season.
Following her second-place finish in the event, Davis opened up about her victory and said that she is quite content with her performances in the Lausanne Diamond League meet.
She stated in an interview after the match:
"It went well tonight. I am just trying to bounce back after not making the Olympic team and I am pleased with the result. This was my first race back and I'm happy and healthy and that is what matters most. I love being in Lausanne, the atmosphere is always great. I'm happy to be back."
Davis finished just behind Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith who clinched the top-podium finish in the event after registering a season-best run time of 10.88 seconds while Switzerland's Mujinga Kambundji clinched the bronze medal with a run time of 11.06 seconds.
Tamari Davis's superb run of form in the 2024 season sees her clinch numerous laurels
Even though Tamari Davis missed out on an opportunity to make it to the United States's team for the Paris Olympics 2024, her performances in other tournaments around the globe have been top-notch.

Following this, the Florida native also clinched top-podium finishes at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational and Bermuda Grand Prix in the Women's 100m event with impressive run times of 10.94 and 11.04 seconds.
