Ilona Maher's DWTS partner Alan Bersten recently reacted to her struggles with some words. The Olympic bronze medalist rugby player recently uploaded a reel about the same on her Instagram profile.
In the reel, Maher talked about some words that people struggle to spell correctly, no matter how much they try. She captioned the post as:
"I even had autocorrect finish spelling “Definitely” for me"
Bersten couldn't help himself but join the conversation, as he commented cheekily:
"Oh, you mean defiantly!"
Bersten also cheered on the rugby player when she scored her first try for the Bristol Bears at the Premiership Women's Rugby League. He posted a two-word reaction on Maher's profile:
"Let's gooooooo"
Maher had teamed up with Alan Bersten for the 33rd season of the dance reality show, 'Dancing with the Stars'. Despite the initial hiccups, the dancing duo surprised everyone on their way to the grand finale.
They were one of the favorites to win the mirrorball trophy, though they missed out by a whisker, finshing second overall. Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson won the mirrorball trophy, while Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong finished as the second runners-up.
Ilona Maher on her love for her supporters and the growth of rugby
Ilona Maher has been vocal about her admiration for her fans, as well as her persistent efforts towards the growth of women's rugby. In a conversation with the Athletic, Maher mentioned:
“I love that they (the fans) interact with me and they see me as somebody who they also can come up to. It is really cool that I’ve created that openness there. There are times when I’m like ‘please give me some space’ but other than that I really love that I am a person people feel very comfortable with.”
During the same interview, Maher also talked about her connection with her fans. The rugby player added:
“I’ve had people in tears just because I took a selfie. Those moments mean a lot to me. And there’s so many that add up. I just hope that, again, I’m honored to be that superstar of rugby but I just feel like it’s not enough for it just to be me. We need more players (to be in the spotlight too) because I’m maybe, as I said, working my magic here (trying to help others do it). I think we need more (players to do the same) to make it even bigger.”
Ilona Maher's team Bristol Bears will now face the Leicester Tigers in their next game, which is scheduled for January 18.
