The official Instagram of the Team Netherlands shared a couple of photographs from the red carpet at the Dutch Sports Awards on Instagram.

In another post on Instagram, the significance of these awards was explained. The post read [translated from Dutch],

"OUR SPORTS YEAR 2024 🧡 Great achievements start small. Our athletes show that time and time again. Every day they work on their sport – step by step, goal by goal. Not by waiting for the perfect moment, but by taking action every day. It's about starting, about persevering, about growing. You don't have to run a marathon or become world champion right away. Small steps take you further than you ever thought possible, as long as you keep moving. Thank you for this magical year!!"

The athletes attending the ceremony included marathon champion Sifan Hassan, who had worn a shimmering blue dress and a blue turban for the occasion. The Dutch basketball team were present, as were Paralympic champion swimmers Lisa Kruger and Chantalle Zijderveld, who won several medals at the Paris Paralympics.

They were followed up by Harrie Lavreysen, who won three gold medals in cycling at the Paris Olympics. Then came star sprinter Femke Bol, who had won a gold, a silver and a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.
