In Pictures: Tara Davis-Woodhall shares glimpses of her 'recent life' after moving to Kansas for her new role as assistant coach
Olympic champion long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall recently joined Kansas State University as the assistant track and field coach. The 25-year-old jumper took to Instagram to share some glimpses of her life.
Recently, Woodhall posted a series of photographs on her Instagram account about her life in Kansas. The post was captioned as:
"Recent Life Dump"
The first photo is of Woodhall taking a selfie before moving out. The next segment shows her pet cat peering over the cat tree. It is followed by another photo, where Woodhall is presumably having a typical Texas meal, loaded with steak.
That is followed by another selfie from the long jumper. Another photo shows the cat tree wrapped in cellophane alongside other stuff packed for the new destination. This is followed by a photograph of her pet dog, and a couple more selfies before she announces her arrival at Kansas with another photograph.
Woodhall had also shared another series of photographs, alongside her husband, and Paralympic champion Hunter Woodhall. The para sprinter posted on his Instagram account,
"We’re not in Arkansas anymore 💔"
Tara Davis-Woodhall was announced as the assistant track and field coach by the Kansas State University on August 2, when the Paris Olympics were on. It was only after the Paris Olympics ended that the American long jumper agreed to take up the offer.

Before the Paris Olympics, Tara Davis-Woodhall only had a silver medal from the Budapest World Championships 2023, and a bronze medal from the Tampere Junior World Championships 2018. However, the 25-year-old long jumper stunned everyone to win the USA's first gold medal in this event since the Rio Olympics held in 2016.
It was based on these achievements that Woodhall was rewarded with the post of assistant track and field coach at Kansas State University. A couple of weeks after the Paris Olympics, the American jumper appeared on a podcast titled 'The Game on 1350 KMAN', where she spoke,
"I'm blessed to be able to, you know, be in these moments, you know, win Olympic gold. That's really crazy. But I think it's even, you know, more inspiring for myself to become a K-State coach; I feel like I have a lot of knowledge and experience."
Interestingly, the authorities at Kansas State University are equally excited to have Woodhall as their assistant coach. Travis Geopfert's, also Woodhall's ex-coach, said:
"I’m thrilled to have Tara joining us at K-State. To say that she brings the energy is an understatement. I’ve loved coaching this young woman for the last three years and to bring her elite level experience to Manhattan is absolutely invaluable," he said. (Via K-State Sports.com)
Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall have created a unique record. They became the first husband-wife pair to win an Olympic gold as well as a Paralympic gold medal at the same edition, i.e. the Paris Olympics and the Paris Paralympics respectively.
