Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens has responded after the gymnast secured another gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Biles earned her third gold at the Paris Olympics with an outstanding performance in the women’s vault finals. This also marked her seventh gold medal at the Olympic Games.
In the finals, Biles performed the Yurchenko double pike and Cheng vaults, earning 15.700 points in vault 1 and 14.900 in vault 2 for a total of 15.300 points, clinching the gold medal. She had earlier collected an individual all-around gold medal and played an instrumental role in team USA's all-around gold triumph.
The silver and bronze medals in the women’s vault were won by Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade (14.966) and Biles’ compatriot Jade Carey (14.466), respectively.
Following Biles’ exceptional win in the vault final, her husband Jonathan Owens, also the NFL safety for the Chicago Bears, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his pride and admiration for the gymnast’s accomplishments. He wrote:
“Just another reminder that my wife is THE SH** 🔥🥇”
Jonathan Owens is on his way to rejoin the Chicago Bears for preseason training. He missed seven sessions to witness Simone Biles' all-around team and individual finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He also missed a pre-season game against the Houston Texans on August 1, which the Bears won 21-17.
On his Instagram account, he shared a photo mentioning how he was following Biles’ vault finals during his flight, adding:
“Even on the flight back!!! Can’t miss it!!! Another gold on the way!! 👀"
The Chicago Bears are set to play their next NFL pre-season game against the Buffalo Bills, where Owens is expected to feature. Notably, the team had granted Owens permission to attend Biles' competitions at the Paris Olympics.

Jonathan Owens was captured writing notes during the women's all-around individual final, in which Simone Biles won the gold medal. Owens used a pen, which had a picture of Mona Lisa on it, to write the notes on the gymnast's performance on various apparatus.
Besides Owens, Simone Biles' parents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles were also in attendance as they cheered for their daughter at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
