Mondo Duplantis meets Zlatan Ibrahimovic alongside girlfriend Desire Inglander following Bottega Veneta appearance

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mondo Duplantis met the soccer legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his recent visit to Italy. This came just after he and his girlfriend, Desire Inglander graced the Bottega Veneta event.

Amid these glam and brand events, Duplantis and Inglander also adjusted time to watch the Milan derby at the San Siro that was scheduled on Sunday (September 22). During the visit to the San Siro the pole vault Olympic champion met the highest international goalscorer of his country, Ibrahimovic who is also currently acting as the senior advisor for his former club, AC Milan.

It was a good day at the office for Ibrahimovic and his men with the Rossoneri winning the match 2-1 against their city rival, Inter Milan, and clinching three crucial points. Christian Pulisic netted the first goal for AC Milan and Matteo Gabbia scored a late winner in the 89th minute of the match.

In one of the recently posted videos by the official Instagram handle of AC Milan, both Mondo Duplantis and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were seen greeting each other gracefully and also sharing a laugh among them at the San Siro.

Duplantis also shared a flurry of pictures on his Instagram handle flaunting some of his clicks at the AC Milan locker room and his time at the legendary San Siros with his girlfriend, Desire Inglander. He also shared a picture of the trophy cabinet of AC Milan showcasing the laurels that the club has won over the years including the prestigious Champions League trophies.

Mondo Duplantis opens up about his 100m exhibition race with Karsten Warholm in Zurich

Reigning pole vault Olympic champion Mondo Duplantis recently opened up about his exhibition race against Karsten Warholm just before the Zurich Diamond League meet. The 24-year-old won the race after clocking a run time of 10.37 seconds.

A few days after the conclusion of the event Duplantis revealed that his race against Warholm was really an enjoyable and healthy competition for him and also mentioned the difference between sprinting at training and in competition. He said (via Athletics Weekly):

“It was an amazing feeling but in a completely different way. It was more of a pride and ego thing for both of us and that made it very fun. It was a really nice feeling. I think that I do good sprint training but I think there is a big difference between that and going at full 100% blast in a competition."

During the race, Duplantis also registered his personal best run time over the 100m dash (10.37 seconds).
