Noah Lyles' girlfriend Junelle Bromfield radiates confidence following cyberbullying confession
Following her cyberbullying confession, Noah Lyles' girlfriend exuded confidence in her skin. A few days following the 2024 Paris Olympics, Bromfield acknowledged experiencing color-based bias online.
The 26-year-old represented the Jamaican squad in the 400m and 4x400m relay races at the Paris Games. The couple began seeing each other in August 2022 following the Jamaican's first move in 2017. She recently took to social media to admit, addressing the severe criticism she faced regarding her skin tone and physical appearance.
"I grew up hearing black is not beautiful, Your hair is dry, your mouth is too big, your forehead too high and when you throw all those insults behind you and start walking with confidence the best compliment you get is you're pretty for a black girl," she wrote.
Bromfield added:
"I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica, especially as a nation that is filled with A black people. I have been getting cyberbullied for weeks and when it gets talked about I’m a liar because no Jamaican was coming for my features."
A few days after her confession, Bromfield radiated newfound confidence by sharing a video, celebrating her natural beauty by ditching any wigs and heavy makeup. While making her authentic look shine, she added the song "Mirror" by Jamaican deejay and singer Spice, with the verses:
"Black is beautiful, that’s facts. Black sensation from the Black nation. Black generation, admiration. I am a proud representation."
Sharing the video, she wrote:
"My melanin glow 🤎💪🏿."

Noah Lyles recently praised his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield following the 2024 Paris Games.
Bromfield has represented Jamaica at multiple events. At her debut Olympics, at the 2020 Tokyo Games, she secured a bronze medal with the team in the women's 4x400m relay event. During an interview with The Today Show after the 2024 Games, Lyles took the opportunity to praise the Jamaican sprinter.
"She's been running since she was eight, making teams for Jamaica, So she's very talented in her all rights, " Lyles said.
He added:
"So proud of her, she's a survivor, she's a fighter, she's savage and as my mom would say, she has a bounce-back ability. no matter what happens, she will be able to comeback."
Bromfield also secured a silver medal in the 4x400m relay event at the 2022 World Championships.
