Simone Biles' husband and Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens recently opened up on the biggest moment he has had so far in his National Football League (NFL) career. This comes just a few days after the Bears' 24-17 victory against the Tennessee Titans.
Speaking during a conversation with Kevin Byard, Owens revealed that his second-last game in the 2021 season against the Los Angeles Chargers after facing numerous cuts in the previous seasons was one of the most highlighted moments for him in his career so far.
He stated that his mother and his then-girlfriend Simone Biles had come to watch him play and it was also his mother, Arthurine Cannon's first NFL live game from the stadium. Besides, he also mentioned the instances during the game when he picked off Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and undercut Josh Palmer which gave him a huge boost of confidence after going through so many ups and downs in his career.
He said (at 42:44 via Intercepted podcast):
"My second to last game I pick off Justin Herbert and this was my first NFL game ever where she came to watch me. She's sitting next to my wife, it was my girlfriend at that time. She's sitting next to Simone and I'm miked up and nervous as hell. Josh P (Josh Palmer) run out post corner man and I'm in cover too undercut it."
He further added:
"My mom in the stairs, it's like crazy and you can't make it up. Me and my mom sitting in the house and just watching sports centre and then they pan to Simone (Simone Biles) in the stands and my mom right there. My mom is on TV bro and all my family calls and it was just one of those moments like man I belong."
