"Not in my best shape yet"- Femke Bol makes honest assessment after Stockholm Diamond League showing
Dutch track athlete Femke Bol made an assessment of her form after clocking a stadium and meet record 400m hurdles run time during the 2025 Stockholm Diamond League. Bol clocked a run time of 52.11 seconds to win the race, which is also her season best this season.
After this race, Bol trails Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (52.07 seconds) by just 0.04 seconds for the season lead. During the Stockholm event, Bol defeated the likes of 400m Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad, who eventually finished second in 52.91 seconds.
Speaking in an interview after the victory, Bol expressed her happiness for registering this performance in one of her favorite stadiums. She also analyzed her plans during the race and said (via Wanda Diamond League):
"This is one of my favorite stadiums so to take the stadium record makes me very happy. I am not in my best shape yet so to take the victory is especially good. I was very focused on the middle section of the race today, and that went well as I pushed ahead at the stage. I am still feeling some lactic but I am starting to feel the hurdles better every race."
During the conversation, Femke Bol also revealed her plans en route to the 2025 World Championships. She stated that she would be competing in a couple of 400m races next, before the London Diamond League, and follow it up with her preparations for the World event.
Femke Bol shares her thoughts on her 2025 track and field season so far

Femke Bol expressed her thoughts on her performances in the 2025 track season so far. Bol has been undefeated so far this year with a 100 percent record, even in the relay races.
Bol shared that even though she has competed in just a couple of 400m hurdles races, she has felt quite good so far this season. She also expressed her happiness to be back racing after skipping most of the indoor events at the start of the season. She said (via Athletics Weekly, 00:08 onwards):
"I think, I've only had two races, so it's been short but I am happy how it's going. I think I've opened my season really good. I was really happy to be back racing after skipping indoors."
Femke Bol recently registered a couple of 400m hurdles victories at the Rabat Diamond League and the FBK Games, where she clocked run times of 52.46 and 52.51 seconds, respectively.
