"Paris arrived"- Simone Biles' former coach Cecile Landi shows off her Olympic rings across three quadrennial games

Simone Biles' former coach, Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, recently showed off her Olympic rings from the Paris Olympics. The current head coach of the University of Georgia's gymnastics team took to Instagram to share her thoughts about the same.

Landi uploaded a photograph of her collections from the three quadrennial editions, viz. the Rio Olympics, the Tokyo Olympics, and the Paris Olympics, on her Instagram story. She captioned the post as

Landi had previously represented France as a gymnast at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. However, after her career ended prematurely in 2002, the French gymnast decided to look for an alternative career in coaching. She moved to the USA alongside her fiancé [and soon to be her husband], Laurent Landi. After working at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy for more than a decade, the couple moved to the World Champions' Centre in 2017, owned by Simone Biles' adoptive parents.

Apart from personally coaching Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles, Cecile Landi and her husband also coached the women's gymnastics team of the USA on several occasions, including the Tokyo Olympics 2020, where she took charge as the head coach. Landi last coached Biles and Chiles for the Paris Olympics before taking leave of the World Champions Centre to join the University of Georgia as the head coach.

Previously, Cecile Landi had shared her thoughts on Simone Biles' successful campaign at the Paris Olympics. The 27-year-old gymnast had made a strong comeback, winning three Olympic gold medals and a silver medal at the quadrennial event held in Paris.

When FIG Gymnastics honored Biles for her achievements recently, Landi shared the post on her Instagram story with a GIF, that was captioned,

"all the feels"

Landi joined the World Champions' Centre as the head coach in 2017 when Biles was at her peak. The duo prepared well for the Tokyo Olympics. However, during the Olympics, Biles developed twisties, due to which she had to withdraw from most of the competitions midway, including the finals of the women's team all-around.

However, Cecile Landi didn't give up and inspired Biles to make a strong comeback. She even backed Jordan Chiles during the bronze medal controversy in the floor exercise event. Landi is now looking forward to making the University of Georgia excel at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
