Riley Gaines reacts to Kamala Harris' electoral campaign reportedly ending $20 million debt despite raising $1 billion
Riley Gaines recently reacted to Kamala Harris' electoral campaign, and the debts incurred by the outgoing US Vice President. The Democrat candidate recently lost to her Republican counterpart and former President, Donald J Trump in the US Presidential elections, with just 226 electoral college votes in her favor.
According to several media reports, Kamala Harris and her team reportedly raised over $1 billion for the election campaign. Despite the best efforts, the former Vice President was left with a debt of $20 million.
Gaines took to her X handle [formerly Twitter] to express her thoughts. In a sarcastic comment over the situation, she posted,
"A perfect illustration of the difference between a businessman and a career politician"
Gaines wasn't the only one who took a dig at the situation Harris landed herself in. Trump also poked fun at the outgoing US Vice President, when he posted,
"I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over. Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do. We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was “Earned Media,” and that doesn’t cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Riley Gaines had been supportive of Donald Trump's candidacy for the US President from the beginning. The Republican candidate won a thumping majority of 312 electoral college votes to become the 47th US President.
Riley Gaines on Kamala Harris' post election speech
Riley Gaines previously reacted to the post-election speech made by Kamala Harris, who conceded the election after Trump won more than 295 electoral college votes. She hoped for the best and prayed that the USA wouldn't go back 'to the dark times'.
Gaines reacted to the speech by posting on her X handle,
"Honestly, Kamala's concession speech sounded great. She's much better at losing than she is at winning. Trump is the opposite. That's what makes him such a great President."
That wasn't all. The former NCAA swimmer also took a dig at the Democrat candidate for taking a whole day to make a speech about the results. She posted on her X handle,
"Fantastic speech by Kamala Harris. By far the best she's looked in the public eye. She accepted defeat, congratulated Trump, spoke to the importance of upholding the constitution, defended her position on her policies, motivated her base. I wish she gave this speech last night."
Riley Gaines has been critical of Kamala Harris' policies as the US Vice President. The 24-year-old social activist also campaigned against the Title IX changes endorsed by Harris, which in Gaines' opinion was harmful to the cause of women's sports overall.
