Simone Biles sends strong message to former President Joe Biden as Donald Trump wins the US presidential elections
Simone Biles has penned a strong message for former US President Joe Biden as the Republican Party’s Donald Trump won the US presidential elections. Biles was reportedly rooting for former Vice President Kamala Harris to take over as president next term and seems unhappy at Trump's re-election.
Earlier this year, Biles had seemingly taken a dig at some remarks Trump made at the 2024 CNN presidential debate. Back then, while discussing the role of immigrants in the US economy, the Republican party lead stated that immigrants would take up ‘black jobs’ leaving to criticism about his phrasing.
The Olympic champion apparently joined the critics, posing with her Olympic medal and writing ‘I love my black job’ on X. Biles once again voiced her support for Kamala Harris on November 5 during the elections, writing ‘Let’s go kamala mamala’ on Instagram Threads.
Now, as Donald Trump has been re-elected as US President, Simone Biles has taken to X to send a strong message to former President Joe Biden. Writing to the Democratic party leader, the gymnast stated,
“Mr Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and make some things shake before your departure. xoxo the women in america 💙.”
Simone Biles expresses her thoughts on Donald Trump's presidential win
Simone Biles seemed to be unhappy with the re-election of Donald Trump, and she isn't hiding her emotions. After the elections, she shared a post on her Instagram stories which read ‘supporting a convicted felony over a woman is f**king insane’, captioning it,
“F**king insane.”
Biles shared another post that read “over 71 million people voted for a president that's been found liable for sexual abuse’, and captioned it,
“this y’all?”
In January 2018, Simone Biles came forward as a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of former USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar. Biles's US teammates Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, and more came forward with similar allegations against the gymnastic physician. Nassar was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison and an additional 40 to 175 years in Michigan State Prison.
Since 2018, Simone Biles has gone on to use her platform to champion causes that are close to her heart, including mental health. The gymnast famously pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics in order to prioritize her well-being and has since gone on to win three golds and one silver at the Paris Olympics.
