Sprinters Daryll Neita, Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith and Gbai Jessika held joint prayer session together before racing at Brescia Grand Prix 2024
Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith, Daryll Neita, and Gbai Jessika were recently seen sharing a heartwarming gesture before a race. This came during the 2024 Grand Prix Lombardia Brescia held on Sunday (September 8).
Lou-Smith, Neita, and Jessika were participants in the Brescia event and competed in the Women's 100m race. However, before the race began, there was a great display of sisterhood and spirituality shown by the three track and field athletes in Brescia.
The three athletes were seen reciting their prayers together by forming a circle before the start of their event. This was a great example of the togetherness that the discipline of track and field brings from athletes around the world.
The 2024 Brescia Grand Prix saw Daryll Neita perform impressively in the race and finish in the second position in 11.31 seconds. This was Neita's best-ever individual performance in the track meets since the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Marie Josee Ta-Lou Smith clinched the top-podium finish after registering a run time of 11.28 seconds. However, Jessika failed to earn a top-three finish and finished fifth in the standings with a run time of 11.65 seconds.
Daryll Neita clinched a third-position finish at the Rome Diamond League meeting in 2024
After clinching a silver medal in the Women's 4x100m relay event at the Paris Olympics, Daryll Neita produced an impressive show at the Olympic Stadium in Rome during the 13th Diamond League meet of the season.
The British track and field athlete clinched the third position in the Women's 200m event after registering a run time of 22.46 seconds. Neita finished behind the US duo of Brittany Brown and Anavia Battle who touched the finishing line in respective run times of 22.00 seconds and 22.27 seconds and clinched the first and second positions.
Neita's third-position finish in Rome came after successive disappointing performances at the Lausanne and Silesia Diamond League meets where she finished in the seventh and fourth positions respectively.
The Rome event was also the third Diamond League event in this 2024 track and field season in which Neita earned a top-three finish, the other two being the Suzhou and Oslo meets where she finished in the first and third position respectively (both in the Women's 200m event).
Neita will next feature at the 2024 Diamond League finals scheduled to be held in Brussels from September 13-14 respectively. The Great Britain track and field athlete is slotted to run in both the 100m and 200m events of the competition.
