"Thank you for being the voice for not only me but so many black women"-Junelle Bromfield reacts as singer Spice dedicates a song amid online abuse
Jamaican singer Spice, also colloquially known as the "Queen of Dancehall" recently came in support of Junelle Bromfield, a 2021 Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist. This comes after the Jamaican track and field athlete revealed the cyberbullying she had to go through on her social media profiles.
Following this, Spice (originally Grace Latoya Hamilton) took to her official Instagram handle to share a video in which she is seen rhyming her song, Mirror, from the Mirror25 album, which mostly deals with body positivity and skin positivity.
In her caption, Spice had some kind words for Bromfield and also dedicated a song from her album to the 26-year-old track and field athlete. She further wrote in her caption:
"@junellebromfield I love you my, Queen. I’m so proud of you, you are a Super Hero. Black sensation, Admiration, Black Perfection. I want to dedicate my song called “Mirror” from my Album #Mirror25 to you."
Following this story, Junelle Bromfield gracefully reacted to Spice's post on her Instagram story and thanked her for taking a stance over this issue. She wrote in her story:
"Thank you so much for being the voice for not only me but so many black women that don't have the courage or the platform to speak up for themselves. Your inspirational to many @spiceofficial. Definition of strong black woman."
Junelle Bromfield reacts to Kishane Thompson's participation at the Silesia Diamond League meet 2024
Junelle Bromfield recently shared a post about the 2024 Paris Olympics' silver medalist, Kishane Thompson's participation at the Silesia Diamond League meeting scheduled on Sunday (August 25) at the Silesian Stadium.
She took to her Instagram handle to share the post on her story as she looks to support her fellow countryman, Thompson.
Both Bromfield and Thompson were integral parts of the Jamaican track and field team that competed at the Paris quadrennial event, with Bromfield competing in the Women's 400m and 4x400m relay event and Thompson doing his part in the Men's 100m and 4x100m relays.
This will also be Thompson's first outing on the track after his successful Paris Olympics 2024 campaign that saw him finish in the silver medal position in the Men's 100m event. In the Silesia meet, Thompson will be up against numerous potent athletes such as Fred Kerley and Ackeem Blake.
