"The American dream is alive and well" - Riley Gaines reacts as Donald Trump takes oath as the 47th President of USA
Riley Gaines recently reacted to Donald Trump taking oath as the new American President. Trump became the 47th President of the USA after defeating Democrat candidate and former Vice President Kamala Harris by 312 to 226 votes.
With this, Trump has become the first American president since Grover Cleveland to win two non-consecutive terms. Recounting an incident from his campaign for the Presidential elections, Gaines mentioned on her X [formerly Twitter]:
"3 months ago to the day he was working as a fry cook at McDonald's. Today he will become the 47th president. The American dream is alive and well."
Gaines also took a jibe at her opponents, recounting an incident when she was held hostage for speaking out her views on gender ideology. In another post on X, she wrote,
"I wanna remind the hundreds of TRA fascists who : assaulted me, barricaded me in a room,held me for ransom for ~5 hrs through the middle of the night, that Donald Trump is the 47th President of the United States. Lucky for them, even they will benefit from his presidency!"
Riley Gaines had campaigned for Donald Trump when he contested for the Presidential elections in 2024. She also supported the recent decisions taken by the Republican senators, be it the passing of Laken Riley Act, or the passing of the Protection of Girls in Women's Sports Act.
Riley Gaines reacts to the US Executive order banning trans athletes from women's sports
Riley Gaines also reacted to the recent US executive order passed by the Trump administration, that put a hold on the participation of trans athletes in women's sports. The executive order also made it clear that gender ideology will be decided on a scientific basis, and not on the basis of radical ideologies.
Gaines reacted to the situation by posting on her X handle [formerly Twitter],
"This is the culmination of everything so many (including myself) have fought for. It's as simple as defining words because you cannot defend what you cannot define. Thank you, President. Promises made, promises kept."
In another post, Gaines shared a video of Trump proclaiming that there are only two genders : male and female. She commented on her X handle,
"We finally have a true CHAMPION for women in the White House. Sex-based definitions are already law in 8 states & introduced in 8 more. Today, it will be established at the federal level.I want to thank @IWV for being the architect of definition's legislation."
Riley Gaines has been campaigning for the exclusion of trans athletes from the women's sports since 2022. She had first come into the limelight when she campaigned against the participation of transgender swimmer Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA Swimming Championships.
