Sydney Mclaughlin-Levrone made her mark at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning two gold medals. In a heartfelt message, she has dedicated her success to her team.

She clinched the women’s 400m hurdles gold medal with a new world record time of 50.37 seconds. It was the fifth time she broke her own world record. She also became the first woman to win back-to-back titles in the event at the Olympics since its debut at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.

Later, she teamed up with Gabby Thomas, Alexis Holmes, and Alexis Holmes to win the gold medal in the women’s 4x400 relay. The quartet clocked an American record 3:15.27 to win the title. Netherlands (3:19.50) and Great Britain (3:19.72) won the silver and bronze, respectively.

With the Olympics done and dusted, Mclaughlin-Levrone took to social media to thank her team for their efforts and stated that her success wouldn't be possible without them.

"This post is dedicated to my team. My people. The people who stood with me through it all. All the sweat, blood, tears. The days that almost killed me, and the ones I killed. Every detail. Everyone did their part. Executed their role," she said.
"Not one variable overlooked. That’s what it takes to get here. That’s what it will take to stay here. Literally could not do it without them. It takes a village. I love you all! We did it. To all those not pictured, we love you!" she added.

The 25-year-old's record-breaking performance in the 400m hurdles has prompted Coe to consider the idea of raising the hurdles' height. This has not been met with unanimous approval, with many, including former NFL star Shannon Sharpe, stating that it was an unfair reaction.
