"This is a bit dramatic";"Y'all were so hostile towards Junelle Bromfield"- Fans divided as Noah Lyles' girlfriend expresses fear to return to Jamaica

Junelle Bromfield received a lot of hate during the Paris Olympics after her boyfriend Noah Lyles revealed in an interview that he got inside information about the Jamaican track and field scene in a conversation with Justin Gatlin. This resulted in a lot of discussions among fans, on social media, who accused her of trading secrets of the Jamaican team with Lyles.

Bromfield is set to appear in the newest episode of 'SIM Soul Sessions' and the show's host, Simone Clarke-Cooper, revealed that she flew to Orlando to conduct the interview as Junelle Bromfield was 'afraid' to travel to Jamaica following the cyberbullying incident.

"I offered to fly her home to come sit with me for @simsoulsessions because I thought she needed to have her say. Her response hurt my heart. She wanted to accept the invitation, but she was afraid to come home. Cyberbullying, trolling, and yes, folks - death threats. In that moment, I promised her that if she was afraid to come to us, we were coming to her," wrote the host of the show.

Fans took to X to express their opinion on Bromfield being afraid to return to Jamaica after the Paris Olympics. Some fans felt that the Jamaican athlete was being over dramatic whereas some fans expressed sympathy.

"I don’t wanna be insensitive but this is a bit dramatic. It was a sensational season; people rant… it’s over," wrote a fan.
"Yall were so hostile towards her so I completely get it. People literally said mek sure yuh nuh come back a Jamaica. They may have been empty threats but some Jamaicans dawk still," another fan chimed in.
"People in the quotes are insensitive as usual. stop policing how people should feel about a certain situation," wrote another fan.

Here are some more fan reactions:

" Did someone threaten her?" wrote a fan.
"Seriously??? I really don't think so," another fan chimed in.
" But….95% of Jamaica doesn’t know who she is…and the 5% already moved on to more pressing things like politics," another fan tweeted.

Junelle Bromfield took to Instagram to break her silence on being bullied on social media after the Paris Olympics.

"I have been getting cyberbullied for weeks and when it gets talked about I’m a liar because no Jamaican was coming for my features. I could go off ranting but I’m just here to tell all the girls/women on my profile that you’re beautiful no matter your shade, shape or size ,and for the little black girls don’t wait on anybody to tell you that your beautiful to believe it 👸🏿❤️," wrote a fan.

Bromfield received immense support from Noah Lyles, Gabby Thomas, and the track world who backed her and encouraged her to emerge stronger.
