WATCH: Hunter Woodhall and wife Tara Davis-Woodhall share emotional hug as sprinter wins maiden gold medal at 2024 Paralympics

Track and field couple Hunter Woodhall and Tara Davis-Woodhall shared an emotional moment after the former clinched his first-ever Paralympic gold medal in the men's 400m T62 event at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. This comes nearly a month after his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall won the gold medal in the women's long jump event at the Paris Olympics.

After finishing with a bronze medal in Tokyo three years ago in the 400m T62, Woodhall further improved his performance to finish in top spot in paris. It was a very emotional moment for Woodhall as his wife watched him earn an Olympic gold medal from the stands.

Following Woodhall's victory in the race, he ran straight to his wife who was sitting in the stands of Stade de France to share an emotional hug. Here is the complete video posted by the joint Instagram page of Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall:

"Hunter Woodhall is a Paralympic gold medalist. His moment and he took it."

Woodhall registered a run-time of 46.36 seconds to defeat the defending champion, Johannes Floors who had to settle for the silver medal after registering a season-best run time of 46.90 seconds. Dutch athlete Olivier Hendriks finished third after completing the race in a personal best run time of 46.91 seconds.

After clinching his first-ever Paralympic gold in the 400m T62 event, Woodhall registered another medal-winning performance on the same day of the Paris Paralympics. The 25-year-old won the bronze medal as a part of the United States 4x100m mixed universal relay team.

The United States team registered a season-best run-time of 47.32 seconds as Noah Malone, Taylor Swanson, and Tatyana McFadden played crucial roles for them along with Woodhall. China and Great Britain finished in the first and second positions respectively, after registering the world record (45.07 seconds) and the area record (46.01 seconds) in the event.

This is Woodhall's second medal in the 2024 Paralympics so far after his men's 100m T64 debacle a few days ago where he failed to earn a medal in the event that saw Costa Rica's Sherman Guity clinch the gold medal. Hunter Woodhall finished in the sixth position during the final with a run-time of 10.96 seconds.
