"We don't respect him as a female, because he isnt one"- Riley Gaines reacts to the threat issued to female athletes of MLK High School
Riley Gaines recently reacted to a threat issued to the female athletes of MLK High School. The school has been in the news for prioritizing a trans athlete over a female one.
According to the media reports, another trans athlete from the same school wrote a post on Instagram, where she called out her critics for demeaning her. She also wrote that anyone who criticizes 'her' for having been born as a boy should receive 'a mf sock on their face'.
Gaines reacted to the situation by posting on her X handle, [formerly Twitter],
"A boy at MLK high school in CA posted on his IG saying that anyone who claims he has an athletic advantage should earn "a mf sock to the face". This is a direct threat & should result in expulsion. He's right about this: we don't respect him as a female, because he isnt one!"
Riley Gaines has been campaigning for the exclusion of trans athletes from women's sports since 2022. She has called out the NCAA as well as the IOC for the participation of Blaire Fleming and Imane Khelif at the Mountain West Conference League and the Paris Olympics respectively.
Riley Gaines on MLK High School taking action against their female athletes
Previously, Riley Gaines had reacted to the action taken by the MLK High School against their female athletes. The athletes were penalized by the administration for protesting against the participation of a trans athlete.
Gaines expressed her thoughts on the situation as she posted on her Instagram story,
"Crazy that students are being punished for what 99% of people know to be true..... Keep standing tall @jadeynn_lynn and the other MLK HS students!"
That wasn't all. Gaines also called out the authorities for not addressing the students' concerns as she posted on her X handle,
"Heartbreaking.
- MLK HS compared a shirt two girls wore that said “Save Girls Sports” to wearing a swastika
- 150+ students wore the same shirt to school to support the girls
- The school punished the students by issuing dress code violations & barring them from attending class
Previously, Riley Gaines campaigned against San Jose State University over the participation of Blaire Fleming, who is reportedly a trans athlete. She also supported educational institutions like Boise State University, University of Wyoming, Utah State University etc., who forfeited their matches at the NCAA Mountain West Conference due to Fleming's presence in the San Jose State Spartans team.
