Simone Biles thanks Alex Morgan for 'elevating women's sports' as American soccer player announces retirement
American soccer player Alex Morgan has announced her retirement and Simone Biles wished and credited her for empowering women's sports.
The 2024 Paris Olympics campaign was a huge success for Biles, especially given the setback she suffered three years before in Tokyo where she experienced twisties. The condition prevented the American from performing to the best of her skills in 2021.
In contrast, Biles finished the 2024 Olympic Games with three gold medals in the team, individual all-around, and vault events, as well as a silver in the Floor Exercise. This outstanding effort brought Biles' Olympic medal total to an incredible eleven, cementing her place as one of the best gymnasts of all time.
The decorated gymnastshared her good wishes for American soccer player Alex Morgan as the Olympic medalist announced her retirement from professional football.
"Congrats on an amazing career. Thanks for elevating women's sports", Biles commented.
"So lucky to do this thing" - Simone Biles on building her dream home
Life after the 2024 Paris Olympics has been nothing short of exhilarating for Simone Biles, who was recently spotted enjoying the thrill of building her new house with her husband Jonathan Owens.
The American gymnast won four medals in the French capital in her third Olympics, three golds and one silver. She won gold medals in the vault, team, and individual all-around competitions, as well as a silver medal in the floor exercise event.
Following her Olympic medal-winning performance, Biles has been involved in a variety of activities, juggling interviews, making media appearances, and celebrating her hard-earned victories. During all of this excitement, she was seen showing fans a sneak peek of her new home, which she is building with Owen.
The Olympian, who presently lives in Houston, Texas, owns a 4,000-square-foot luxury property that she bought in 2020. She is developing a lakefront mansion in her home state of Texas. The under-construction property includes an upper level with a game room, home theatre and wet bar, as well as a balcony with a lake view.
The couple started building their house in March 2023, and the gymnast has been keeping her followers updated on the process. She just visited Owens' residence and posted a couple of photos on her Instagram account.
"Building our dream home," she wrote in one of her stories. "So lucky to do the thing called life with you."
Furthermore, she posted a selfie with Owens in what appeared to be a ceiling mirror.
