“I made a mistake” — Love is Blind UK star Nicole apologizes to Benaiah in episode 5

On August 14, 2024, five new episodes (5–9) of Love Is Blind: UK were released. The series debuted earlier this month with four episodes, where five couples—Bobby & Jasmine, Freddie & Catherine, Ollie & Demi, Tom & Maria, and Steven & Sabrina—got engaged after connecting in the pods. While Sam and Nicole seemed close to joining them, they decided to end their relationship at the end of episode four, admitting they didn't feel a strong enough connection.

Episode 5, titled 'I made a mistake,' continued with Nicole getting ready to meet Benaiah after she had chosen Sam in the pods. She apologized to Benaiah and wanted to rebuild their trust because she felt empty without him. Benaiah also shared his thoughts about the show and expressed regret about Nicole's choice of Sam.

"I made a mistake. And there's someone I need to talk to and I owe them a huge apology because I really want to make things right with them. I need to follow my heart and there's no one else I'd want to spend my life with than Benaiah," Nicole confessed.

Benaiah proposed to Nicole after overcoming his aversion to being committed and giving the experiment his all.

"I think a seed has been sown, I wanna help nurture and care for that seed and help it become the most beautiful flower. I am asking you today, Nicole... will you marry me?" Benaiah said in the confessional.

They had a heartfelt embrace after she said yes.

What happened between Nicole and Sam on Love is Blind UK?

Benaiah alerted Nicole to what Sam had been telling the other male cast members about her and a few other women in Love is Blind UK season 1 episode 3. Benaiah told her that Sam wasn't on the show for the proper reasons. Nicole admitted in a confessional that she was "stunned" and "perplexed" by the entire fiasco.

Nicole continued, saying that because she thought Sam had been "consistent" with her, and that Benaiah put a "spanner" in the works. She discussed the matter with her friend Jasmine, who had also connected with Sam earlier in Love is Blind: UK. According to Jasmine, Nicole would become more "emotionally fulfilled" if she were with Ben because they shared a "spiritual way." Sam lacked that depth.

Jasmine claimed that Sam had told Nicole the same thing when she told Nicole that Sam had been telling her from the beginning that she was the one. Later in the episode, Nicole explained that because Sam had given her a "very assured" feeling, she didn't want to trust what Benaiah had told her.

The Love is Blind UK participant went on to say that she belonged "somewhere." As she still had doubts about Sam's genuineness, Nicole went up to him to discuss what she heard about his true intentions. Sam went on to say that all he wanted was to see her happy and urged her to have faith in him, saying he had "so much love to give."

"No one's ever loved me. I need someone to love me more than anything as well, okay? I have to be real with you," he added.

In response, Nicole said that she appreciated that she could be so honest with him and declared her love for him. Sam proposed to her as he was on his knees. Nicole accepted, and in episode four, they had their first encounter. But their trip was only temporary, as the two came back.

Later in the episode, Nicole realizes Sam isn't right for her and ends their engagement before their holiday. In the final moments, she expresses a desire to apologize and reconcile with Benaiah.

In episode 5, she apologized to Ben and accepts his proposal.
