Amazon Prime's Citadel: Diana is an Italian spy thriller series, featuring Matilda De Angelis as Diana Cavalieri. The show recently premiered on the platform with six episodes in season 1, starring the likes of Lorenzo Cervasio and Maurizio Lombardi in major roles.

The new series continues the story after the events of Citadel, and its official synopsis on Prime Video reads:

“Milan, 2030: Diana Cavalieri is a double agent for the secret syndicate Citadel, who infiltrated Manticore, the rival agency that destroyed Citadel eight years ago. Trapped behind enemy lines, Diana has a chance to leave the agency forever, but she has to decide whether to trust a surprising ally: the heir of Manticore Italy, Edo Zani.”

Citadel: Diana features the protagonist trapped in Italy in a high-powered agency as a United States spy. The series is set to premiere on October 10, 2024, with all six episodes releasing at 12:00 AM PT.

What to expect from Citadel: Diana season 1

In a nutshell, Citadel: Diana follows the story of Diana Cavalieri, a double agent who works for the spy agency known as Citadel. Introduced as part of the original series, Diana will be seen infiltrating the Manticore spy agency, which is the rival of Citadel.

Manticore was guilty of destroying the Citadel agency eight years before the events of the current series, and Diana was left without support as a double agent. Set in 2030 Milan, the show is set to take viewers across a deceitful journey filled with action and high stakes.

The original series also featured both the spy agencies that are set to be at the forefront in the latest spinoff. Citadel was created by Josh Appelbaum and had the Russo Brothers as executive producers.

It featured major stars such as Richard Madden, previously seen in Game of Thrones, and Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, who took on the role of Nadia Sinh. The series was made with a staggering budget of $300 million and premiered back in April 2023. As fans await season 2 of the series, they have its first spinoff to watch for the time being.

Citadel: Diana has been developed by Alessandro Fabbri, with Gina Gardini as the showrunner. The former, in particular, is known for his work on movies such as Blessed Madness, giving viewers another reason to catch the latest show.
