Mo inherits the curse in the Kings of Jo’Burg season 2
Now ruler of the Masire empire, Mo is burdened with criminal empire leadership and the supernatural curse that once tormented Simon.
The mermaid's curse causes hallucinations and physical deterioration, making it harder for him to govern. Mo tries to keep the effects in order and hidden from the world, but the toll on his body and mind becomes more and more evident.
His growing instability repels those around him and leads to a series of catastrophic choices, pushing him towards desperation.
Tlotlo's betrayal and Zaza's revenge
Mo's arch-enemy Menzi's daughter Zaza comes with an agenda: revenge. Having blamed the Masire family for the death of her father, she seduces and manipulates Mo's irresponsible and hot-headed son Tlotlo. Kidnapping Tlotlo's girlfriend Mimi, is a point of no return in her revenge plan.
Even when Mo warns him, Tlotlo's emotional decisions risk the family and the family business. Zaza's plan increases intra-family tensions and introduces a wild card threat from within.

Looking ahead to Kings of Jo’Burg season 3
Season 3 of Kings of Jo'Burg finds the Masire empire in new leadership and reacting to new challenges. With Mo in prison, Veronica Masire assumes her role as the leader of the family, exercising powers she's just acquired through her mermaid alliances to safeguard and expand their criminal empire.
She must deal with Gavin Salat, the brutal crime lord of Cape Town, who declares war on her and sparks turf battles. On the supernatural side, the show continues to delve into "African mythology and spiritual folklore" with increasing curses and supernatural forces challenging the family's grip on the line.
Family conflict breaks out, as the younger Masire members turn against each other and suspicious coalitions are forged. Veronica's "newly acquired mermaid powers" could be a potential game-changer in this next chapter. Viewers can expect themes of power struggles, complex family dynamics, and supernatural elements from this upcoming season.
