Receiver Season 1: Release date, cast and everything to know about the Netflix NFL series

Netflix is back with another docu-series, Receiver Season 1, from the world of the National Football League. The series is directed by known filmmaker Joe Zucco and will be released on Netflix starting on July 10, 2024.

Last year, around the same time, Netflix released another movie, Quarterback, which gives viewers a closer look at the lives of some of the famous players of the NFL.

Receiver Season 1 revolves around the 2023 NFL season and shows what it takes to be a top-tier pass catcher. It highlights the challenges and victories faced by players during a season. The eight-episode series will provide a detailed look into the personal and professional lives of five players of the NFL.

The cast of the series stars five of the skilled and popular receivers from the NFL: DaVante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Each of these players has their own skill set, which adds diversity to the docu-series and will help viewers to understand the game and the life of American football players. The series will give a chance to football fans to know about their favorite players more.

Receiver Season 1: Everything to Know

Release Information

Receiver Season 1 will be released on Netflix on July 10, 2024. The series has eight episodes. Each episode will be about 45 minutes long.

This is the second series and the sequel of Quarterbacks by Netflix in 2023, which looks into the world of the National Football League.

Receiver Season 1 is produced by NFL Films, Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, and Mahomes’ 2 PM Productions.


Plot

Receiver Season 1 gives an inside look at the lives of the five aforementioned NFL players during the 2023 season. The series shows the pressures of both personal and professional lives on the players and how they deal with it.

Viewers will get to see the hard work, commitment and ups and downs the players go through. Each episode shows different problems of the players and how they navigate through them.

In an interview with Netflix’s site Tudum, Joe Zucco, supervising producer of NFL Films said:

"We were thrilled last summer to see audiences all over the world diving into the lives of NFL quarterbacks.
"We believe the extraordinary skills, dedication, and passion of the NFL's great wide receivers — and one tight end — will make a perfect follow-up."

Cast of Receiver Season 1

1) DaVante Adams

DaVante Adams played his second season for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. Before that, he played for the Green Bay Packers. He's one of the best wide receivers of the season.

2) Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson plays as a wide receiver for Minnesota Vikings, the team of Minneapolis. He's one of the best young receivers in the NFL but the last season was a bit rough for him, as he went through injuries.

3) George Kittle

George Kittle plays for the San Francisco 49ers. He's technically not a receiver but a tight end. However, he has been a crucial part of the team and has shown how having a strong tight end can help the team.

4) Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel is also a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He's best known for his attacking skills.

5) Amon-Ra St. Brown

Amon-Ra St. Brown plays for the Detroit Lions, St. Brown. Thanks to Brown, they had a 12-5 season in 2023, their best in 32 years.
