Plot of The Survivors season 1

Keiran Elliott, the protagonist of The Survivors season 1, returns to his small hometown of Evelyn Bay after fifteen years. Finn, Keiran's brother, and Toby, his best friend, died in a storm while trying to save Keiran, who lived. Their deaths still haunt the town. People in Evelyn Bay blame Keiran for the deaths, and his return with his girlfriend Mia and their young daughter opens up old wounds.

As Keiran deals with his grief over the past, he is thrown into a new mystery when the body of a young waitress named Bronte Laidler is found. Mia's childhood friend Gabby Birch went missing around the same time as Finn and Toby, and her case has still not been solved by Bronte.

As the investigation into Bronte's murder goes on, hidden details about Gabby's death are revealed, which leads to a shocking discovery about the killer.

The people of Evelyn Bay have to face the mistakes they made in the past, which brings up themes of trauma, guilt, and unresolved grief. Keiran and Mia's deep emotional ties and long-standing guilt come to the surface, which makes their already tense relationship even worse. In the end, the murder investigation reveals the truth about both Bronte and Gabby's deaths.
