Dream admits explicit images were shared in DSMP chats in the presence of minors
Minecraft YouTuber Clay "Dream" recently responded to remarks that fellow YouTuber and Twitch streamer Tobias "Tubbo" made while reacting to a Reddit post made by Dream on the r/DreamWasTaken2 subreddit. Dream's post addressed the backlash he had been receiving for sharing a meme that used the R-word to describe the community of Thomas "TommyInnit."
In his Twitch broadcast, Dream also noted Tubbo stating that he felt "uncomfortable" with certain "inappropriate topics of conversation" within the Dream SMP Discord server, with him being a minor then. Addressing this, Dream clarified:
"Tubbo didn't give specifics, so I'm not going to give exact specifics but I'll give more specifics than Tubbo did because again it does make it seem a lot worse than the way that Tubbo is phrasing it... But first of all, it doesn't involve me other than the fact that obviously Dream SMP is my thing..."
Continuing further, he revealed that an inappropriate image had been shared in a channel where Tubbo was present:
"In like one of the Dream SMP chats or whatever, there was like a fan art p**n image shown. Now, obviously, that's not something that should be shown regardless to anybody... But to give context, because I think it is important to this situation, is it was a bunch of Dream SMP people in a call looking at the fact that fans were drawing crazy art like that and making fun of it and being like, oh my god, this is crazy, this is disgusting."
"They both said don't treat us any different": Dream gives context to inappropriate image being shared in Dream SMP Discord in presence of minors
The entire drama began with a feud between TommyInnit and Kick streamer Félix "xQc," with them making remarks about each other on X. Dream then decided to chime in by posting a meme that called the fanbase of TommyInnit "r*tarded". This led to a backlash against Dream, which he addressed in his Reddit post.
Therein, Dream also alleged the presence of "double standards" regarding the usage of the R-word and claimed that other individuals, such as Nicolas Cantu, made use of the word before but were excused for it while Dream was being chastised online.
As Tubbo made a comprehensive response to Dream's Reddit post in his livestream, the latter decided to host his own Twitch broadcast covering the entire drama. Clarifying the reasoning behind the inappropriate image being sent to the Dream SMP Discord server, Dream said:
"I don't think anyone in that scenario was trying to be creepy or predatory to anybody, it was people treating Tubbo like he was just like them, like he was an adult , which probably shouldn't have happened, but it's also something that Tubbo and Tommy (TommyInnit) both asked many times. They both said, don't treat us any different. Don't treat us like anyone else, but at the time same time, they're kids... So, you shouldn't take their word for that."
In his response to Dream's Reddit post, Tubbo also commented on Dream's claim that TommyInnit has "no backbone" and stated that some members of the Dream SMP, other than TommyInnit, were "spineless a** creators."
