"Hoping Ava speaks up": Valkyrae responds after being repeatedly tagged on X to speak on the Ava Kris Tyson situation
With the streaming world in turmoil after Ava Kris Tyson’s pedophilia allegations, popular streamer Valkyrae has put out a statement. The streamer was repeatedly being tagged on various social media platforms and asked to “disavow” Ava. For the unversed, Mr Beast’s co-host Ava Kris Tyson was accused of pedophilia and grooming by YouTubers prism42 and Breone. She was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor.
Reacting to these allegations, Valkyrae started by explaining the reason behind the delay in her response:
“I’m still in the process of moving so I haven't been able to fully keep up but in the meantime since I’ve been tagged a bunch”
She opposed the comparisons being drawn between the transgender community and pedophiles:
“Pedophiles = bad/ Trans ≠ equal p*do. The actions of one trans person does not mean all. Sucks to see so many anti trans people act as if it does. Im hoping Ava speaks up. Dr d is still gross👍🏼”
Valkyrae, aka Rachell Marie Hofstetter, concluded by highlighting people who repeatedly mentioned the allegations against Dr Disrespect and asked her to speak up:
“Lastly to the incels that ONLY tagged Poki and I to “speak up” even though everybody did after D did himself, you’re weird. Focus your hate towards the p*dos for once👍🏼”
The response to her tweet has been mixed. While some supported her, many others have pointed out the lack of condemnation for Ava Kris Tyson.
Sneako called out Valkyrae for her lack of response in the Ava Kris Tyson case
Among those who tagged her and Pokimane for a response, Sneako had accused them of not wanting to “disavow the woke community.” He referred to the allegations against Dr Disrespect in June, which yielded reactions from Pokimane and Valkyrae:
“Pokimane and [another female Twitch streamer's name], these two Twitch streaming females - where is the consistency? When are you going to go and disavow Kris and MrBeast? You have way more information! You actually have the receipts, and you haven't said a word yet."
Sneako claimed that their immediate responses were a result of Dr Disrespect being a "white straight man":
"Immediately (for) Dr DisRespect, 'Eww! Disgusting! Worst person ever!' Kris from MrBeast, silent. And you know why? Because he's a transgender. Because you don't want to disavow the woke community. You don't want to go against your own people. It wasn't about Dr DisRespect messaging a 17-year-old. It was about a white straight man that you disagreed with."
Pokimane has also released a statement regarding the situation.
