NFL star Tyreek Hill calls out IShowSpeed for not showing up after being invited to train with him
NFL star Tyreek Hill has labeled YouTube streamer Darren "IShowSpeed" as a "no-show" during a recent interview (August 1, 2024). For context, IShowSpeed had previously announced that he would be taking on Tyreek Hill in a race to find out who is faster. The two have met before and shared a banter-worthy exchange on who has more legs. During a recent stream (July 29, 2024), IShowSpeed said:
"We got the date. I'm about to race the fastest person in America on Thursday (August 1). On Thursday, chat. If y'all don't know, who Tyreek Hill is, chat, Tyreek Hill is an NFL player. He is considered one of the fastest persons in America."
Despite scheduling a collaboration, it appears that the streamer has not turned up. This was revealed during an interview by Tyreek Hill. When asked about the potential race, the NFL star said:
"What's funny is, I actually invited him out here to practice. I didn't say I was gonna race him, but I did say I was gonna invite him to practice."
Tyreek Hill labels IShowSpeed a "no-show" for not turning up to training
Tyreek Hill is frequently recognized as one of the fastest players in the NFL (the wide receiver's official Instagram handle is "@cheetah"). Coincidentally, Tyreek and Speed live in the same city - Tyreek currently plays for the Miami Dolphins, and Speed owns a house there.
Given their shared location, a potential collaboration seemed like a matter of 'when' rather than 'if.' However, it appears that IShowSpeed has not been able to show up after being invited to train by the NFL star. Speaking about the meeting, Tyreek said:
"I told the coach to put him out and show the players. I wanted to see how he did out here with us the whole day. The group of receivers. I mean, just mixing up a little bit, changing it up, just a little lifestyle up, to see if he can hang with us in the sun."
When asked "what became of that," the 30-year-old athlete replied:
"He didn't show (up). He was a no-show. So, that's all I can say. Hopefully, he can come tomorrow, we'll see."
IShowSpeed's team hasn't yet commented on why he wasn't there. However, the streamer's busy schedule and frequent IRL streams could be viable reasons.
