Pokimane criticizes TwitchCon's reservation system for meet-and-greets in response to official notification
On June 10, 2024, popular streamer Imane 'Pokimane' commented under an X post by Twitch about TwitchCon. The platform reminded audiences to register for the Meet and Greet happening in TwitchCon Europe. As per the post, fans wanting to go to the Meet and Greet must download the TwitchCon app to grab a spot. Reservations for the event will kick off at 5 pm CEST on June 11, 2024.
Pokimane replied to this announcement, opining that pre-registration and limited spots for Meet and Greets diminish the excitement for fans and the gratitude streamers have for them. In her post, she stated:
"Respectfully the reservation system for meet & greets sucks imo (In my opinion). It’s not something people are used to + takes away the excitement (and gratitude creators have for those who waited to see them). I also like staying longer to squeeze in more people. Pls reconsider!"
Pokimane updated fans on social media about inappropriate behavior by ex-coworker
On June 1, 2024, in a livestream, Imane revealed that one of her ex-editors had reached out to her about being unable to meet deadlines. As per Pokimane, the ex-editor said that he 'couldn't stop touching himself' while editing her videos, which led to the delays. Extremely shocked by this incident, the streamer explained that she didn't know how to react. She explained in the stream:
"Tell me why he proceeded to tell me that the reason why he sometimes turned around videos a week or two late was because he couldn’t stop… touching himself."
She also revealed that she did work with him for a few months after that while keeping this conversation a secret even though she was extremely 'weirded' out by him. After the live stream, Imane's clip where she talks about this incident went viral on social media and many fans started to assume that whatever the editor had said to Poki, was about her. This led to the streamer having to clarify herself in an X post.
Pokimane currently has 9.3 million followers on Twitch and is set to also appear in a MrBeast video after Jimmy revealed the list of streamers from an upcoming video.
