"That's free money": IShowSpeed accepts Jake Paul's $25,000 challenge to a race
YouTube streamer IShowSpeed has accepted Jake Paul's challenge to a race. The decision came days after a clip of Jake claiming he was faster than the streamer garnered some traction on the internet. The YouTuber naturally saw it and, during his most recent stream, called up Jake Paul about the $25,000 bet.
On the August 23rd episode of BS w/ Jake Paul, the boxer bet $25K that he would beat IShowSpeed in a race despite his co-host and podcast guest Gary Vaynerchuck and Joe Levy putting their money against the younger Paul brother.
After he face-timed Jake Paul, IShowSpeed seemed quite confident that he would win the race and claimed that it was free money for him:
"So, I have seen a clip of you saying you want to race me for $25K. You know that's free money, right?"
Both seemed down to make the challenge happen, with Jake promising to fly the YouTuber out to Puerto Rico for the race.
"We doing it soon": IShowSpeed and Jake Paul talk about setting up the $25K race challenge
IShowSpeed is known for being quite athletic and has done some racing on camera already. Recently, he beat Travis Scott in a short sprint at the Fanatics Fest despite getting a cramp. On top of this, an Olympic athlete had also approached the streamer for a race.
On the other hand, Jake Paul is also quite fit due to his boxing career. The two engaged in a bit of trash-talking after the streamer Facetimed Jake on his stream. The boxer, who was recently slated to fight Mike Tyson, claimed that IShowSpeed was slow:
"You are not that fast, you run like a 4.6."
The YouTuber countered by pressing on the challenge:
"Okay then let's go, let's race then come one."
Jake Paul then offered to fly him out to Puerto Rico for the race:
"Alright, let's do it here in Puerto Rico 'cus I am about to start camp. I will fly you out and everything."
IShowSpeed was quite happy with the terms:
"Let's see, free flight out, free $25K. I'm down, let's go."
The YouTuber seemed extremely confident and wanted the race to happen the next day:
"Alright bet, let's do this tomorrow!"
However, Jake Paul claimed that he had work and would have to figure out his schedule to make it happen:
"Uh, I have somewhere to be. Let me figure out the schedule."
IShowSpeed seemed set to race soon and closed out their conversation by asking Jake Paul to look through his schedule for an open slot:
"Alright, yeah, yeah, yeah. Figure it out, we doing it soon."
IShowSpeed has a good sprint record under his belt. During his Europe Tour earlier this year, the YouTube streamer even beat a professional soccer player in Norway. Fans are naturally looking forward to the potential challenge against Jake Paul. However, a date has not been set yet.
