"YouTube protecting their biggest channels": Netizens react after YouTubers claim Ava Kris Tyson and MrBeast allegation videos are being censored
Several YouTubers have come out to claim that the content platform is censoring videos that mention MrBeast, Ava Kris Tyson, or any of the associated controversies. Jimmy Donaldson, aka, MrBeast’s YouTube channel has the most number of subscribers for any channel in history, currently at 306 million subscribers.
Ava Kris Tyson, who is the co-host for many of Donaldson's videos, was recently accused of grooming and pedophilia by two YouTubers, prism42 and Breone. Following this accusation, many others started delving into her past, and also that of MrBeast, her employer. Since then, a few controversial videos that had previously flown under the radar have popped back up, resulting in many other content creators reacting to the allegations and making content regarding the controversy.
Now, some content creators are claiming that YouTube is censoring them, owing to MrBeast's influence on the platform.
YouTuber Kavos was one of the first to speak up about the platform's alleged censorship. He posted a screenshot of a message sent by YouTube, informing him that his video had been deemed “not suitable” for underage viewers.
Some more creators, Ohemeezzy, DDayCobra, and Sensitive Soci3ty mentioned the same. In response, several netizens have spoken up against YouTube, asking for an amendment to its rules.
User, @royal_bobby24 on X, claimed that this was a move to protect MrBeast, one of the biggest channels on YouTube:
“Nah this is crazy YouTube protecting their biggest channels 😭 this is like saying we don’t gaf them p*dos”
Many others echoed this sentiment and claimed it was an attempt to control the narrative:
“They're trying to control the narrative and limit reach smh” - @PieFlyy
“Obviously Mr Beast is more valuable to youtube than this n*gga not really a shocker” - @spaboyss
“Youtube is scared because they know this is the tip of the iceberg.” - @AI_EmeraldApple
However, some believe the reason is not quite as nefarious:
“Because it's talking about sensitive material? What is there to be confused about” - @EssexColorado
Sneako and Andrew Tate also believe YouTube and the “Matrix” are shielding MrBeast and Ava Kris Tyson
Popular streamer Sneako also expressed grievances against the Google-backed platform. He called out YouTube for not banning Ava Kris Tyson’s channel, despite the allegations:
"YouTube, I feel unsafe on your platform. Kids are asking, what's your username on YouTube? I got to tell them, I'm on Rumble because you banned me talking about COVID and supporting Trump in 2020. But you're going to allow confirmed p*dophile Kris Tyson?"
Controversial celebrity Andrew Tate agrees with the claims made by the aforementioned content creators. Following the Ava Kris Tyson controversy, Tate also spoke up, claiming that MrBeast’s channel itself is a front for the Biblical Beast.
He also brought up his theory of the Matrix, which controlled the world, and claimed that it had permitted MrBeast to become the biggest YouTube channel:
"Considering the fact that you don't get to become the largest YouTube channel in the world without permission from The Matrix, because they throttle the accounts they don't like and they take subscribers off and they prevent the accounts to tell the truth from getting views. If you are getting that many views and that many subscribers, they are pushing you to the front with the algorithm."
Meanwhile, Ava Kris Tyson said that she has stepped away from “all things MrBeast,” in a statement on July 23. MrBeast also spoke against his former employee, calling her alleged actions unacceptable.
