A former player for the Connecticut Sun and the Indiana Fever, Katie Douglas started her journey in the W after being drafted as the 10th overall pick by the Orlando Miracles in the 2001 draft. The Miracles ceased to exist as the franchise moved itself to the city of Connecticut and rebranded itself as the Connecticut Sun.

Women's basketball icon Maya Moore graced the WNBA with her immaculate skills for seven years. She was a loyal player her entire career donning only the jersey of the Minnesota Lynx. Sue Bird made 60 appearances in the playoffs and made 111 3-pointers averaging a playoff-career 3-point percentage of 36.5%.
