"A house divided": Candace Parker and 2yo son adorably bond over Iowa's Big 12 loss

While it's been nearly two decades since Candace Parker played for Tennessee, she continues to support her alma mater. Tennessee beat No. 17 Iowa 78-68 on Sunday, and Parker shared a clip of her family watching the game together on her Instagram Stories.

In the clip, the two-time WNBA MVP cheered for Tennesee. She wasn't alone in cheering for her alma mater though as her two-year-old son, Airr Larry joined her. However, not everyone in the clip was on the same side. A man was also seen in the clip cheering for Iowa with Hartt Summitt, Parker's younger son, on his lap.

With Tennesse beating Iowa, Parker added a caption in her post to indicate that there is a lack of unity in their household in terms of which team to support while also celebrating Tennesse's win.

"A house divided," Parker wrote. "But Tenn won!!"

The man in the clip is likely Candace Parker's father, Larry Parker. Larry played for Iowa from 1972-73 to 1975-76. Larry had his best season in his third year, when he averaged 10.3 points per game. In total, he put up 6.8 ppg for the entirety of his career.

Meanwhile, Candace played for Tennessee from 2005-06 to 2007-08. In her three-year college career, she averaged 19.4 ppg. She led the nation in scoring during her sophomore and junior years with 19.6 and 21.3 ppg respectively. Parker also led in blocks per game. In 2006-07, she averaged 2.8 blocks followed by 2.4 rejections per game in her final year.

Her elite scoring and blocking translated to the WNBA. In her 16-year career, she averaged 16.0 ppg and 1.5 bpg. She was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and was also MVP twice (2008 and 2013). To date, Parker is the only player to win MVP in her rookie season.
