WNBA star Angel Reese proudly cheered on her college team, the LSU Tigers, as they secured a thrilling overtime victory against the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday. The Chicago Sky rookie shared her enthusiasm for the game on X (formerly Twitter).

Garrett Nussmeier connected with Kyren Lacy down the right sideline for a 25-yard touchdown on LSU's first play of overtime, leading the No. 13 Tigers to a dramatic 29–23 win over the No. 9 Ole Miss.

Nussmeier passed for 337 yards, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 22 of 51 attempts. Lacy, who scored the game-winning touchdown, finished with five receptions for 111 yards.

In her freshman season at LSU, Reese made an immediate impact, averaging 23.0 points and 15.4 rebounds per game as a double-double machine. During her final season at LSU, she averaged 18.6 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Reese's influence on LSU basketball was widely recognized, earning her several awards and honors. She was named the SEC Player of the Year in 2024 and received numerous All-America distinctions, including selections to the Wooden Award All-America Team and the AP Second Team All-America.

Following a stellar career at LSU, Angel Reese turned pro after being selected by the Chicago Sky with the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She finished as the runner-up to the Rookie of the Year award after averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.

After her time at LSU, Angel Reese has risen to become one of the most prominent stars in women's basketball. In the WNBA, LSU has produced three former players who have found success alongside Reese: Sylvia Fowles, Theresa Plaisance and Khayla Pointer.

Currently, LSU boasts nine active NBA players, including notable names like Ben Simmons, Tari Eason, Cam Thomas and Skylar Mays, along with the most recent NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Naz Reid.

Basketball legends Shaquille O'Neal, Bob Pettit and Pete Maravich are also LSU alumni.

As the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft from LSU, Reese finished her rookie season with a league-record 26 double-doubles. Furthermore, she led the WNBA in both total rebounds per game (13.1) and offensive rebounds per game (5.1).
