Angel Reese joins Wilt Chamberlain in ultra-exclusive 3-member list of players with 20 rebounds in three consecutive games

Rebounding is a difficult skill to master, but Angel Reese is making it look easy in her first season in the WNBA. The Chicago Sky rookie recorded 22 rebounds on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces to accumulate an incredible 62 rebounds over her last three games. Reese has logged 20 or more rebounds on three consecutive outings and joins an exclusive club that includes NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain.

According to a recent post from SportsCenter, only three WNBA or NBA players since 1973 have recorded 20-rebound games in three consecutive outings. The last person to achieve that was Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons in 2003. Before that, LA Lakers center Chamberlain accomplished three straight 20-rebound games in 1973.

The WNBA was founded in 1996 (the first game was played in 1997), and while there have been some great rebounders, no player has matched Reese's accomplishment of three straight games with 20 or more boards. Reese is in her rookie season, and it took just 29 professional games to reach the historic milestone.

Reese's incredible run started against the Phoenix Mercury on Aug. 18. She finished the game with 20 rebounds and 19 points. A few days later, the Sky rookie racked up 20 rebounds against the Connecticut Sun. On Sunday, 22 rebounds from the former LSU star was enough to cement her place in the history books and join an elite club of rebounders.

The WNBA regular season is only 75 percent complete, but Angel Reese has already left her mark. The 6-foot-3 power forward is averaging a double-double with 13.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game.

Earlier this season, Reese went on an incredible run of 15 consecutive games where she recorded a double-double. The previous WNBA record of 12 consecutive double-doubles had been held by Candace Parker during a spell with the LA Sparks. Reese shattered that record with a dominant 15-game display from Jun. 4 to Jul. 11.

Reese ranks first in the league in rebounds per game ahead of Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson. She ranks 27th in the scoring charts with 13.5 points per game.
