Candace Parker sums up her adorable never-seen-before picture in 3 words
Former LA Sparks star Candace Parker shared a never-seen-before picture of her on Sunday. The three-time WNBA champion took to Instagram to post an adorable image of her childhood and summed up the picture with a three-word message.
The 38-year-old shared an image which showed her enjoying the festive period. The Missouri native's post saw her photographed beside a well-decorated Christmas tree.
"Smile lil Can," she wrote followed by multiple laughing emojis.
Candace was born in St. Louis Missouri but moved to Naperville Illinois at the age of two with her family. Both her father and brother played basketball with her brother Anthony Parker a 9-year NBA veteran who played for the Philadelphia 76ers, the Orlando Magic, the Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Candace Parker won the WNBA crown with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2016, followed by a championship with the Chicago Sky in 2021 before winning her final WNBA chip with the Aces in 2023.
Candace Parker pens emotional note for legendary sportscaster Greg Gumbel
WNBA legend Candace Parker penned an emotional note to legendary sportscaster Greg Gumbel, who died Friday after a battle with cancer.
Candace honored Gumbel's memory as the duo shared broadcasting and presenting duties during their time on the CBS network. She wrote:
"You welcomed me with open arms and always wanted to show me the ropes. We connected on Chicago sports but mostly on your beautiful granddaughter that you always whipped out and showed me pictures of. You were so proud of your family.
"I will miss our fist bumps before shows and our texts throughout the year. Thank you for being so kind for above an amazing broadcaster you were an unbelievable human."
Candace worked for CBS as an NBA analyst and commentator on TNT, NBA TV, and NCAA Tournament coverage. The former Sparks standout retired in April 2024 and now serves as Adidas' head of Women's Basketball.
