The Lynx overcame the Connecticut Sun in an evenly-matched series. Collier delivered an exceptional performance on Tuesday and scored 27 points, helping her team secure a 3-2 record and win the series.
On the other hand, Sabrina Ionescu and the NY Liberty were matched up against the former WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces who were aspiring to complete a three-peat.
However, the Aces' dream train met a dead end on Sunday as Ionescu and Breanna Stewart scored 22 points and 19 points, respectively, to win the series with a 3-1 record.
Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx create history with a win over the Connecticut Sun
Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx got past the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday. However, it was no ordinary win, as both Collier and her team etched their names in the history book with their latest triumph on the hardwood.
Collier scored a double-double with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. She became the only player in WNBA history to record more than 25 points and 10 rebounds in three consecutive playoff games.
As for the Minnesota Lynx, they will become the only franchise in the league to have the most appearances in WNBA playoffs. The four-time WNBA champions will be booting up to enter the Finals court for the seventh time in league history.
The matchup between the Lynx and the Liberty will be an exciting one as both teams have been excellent in their journey to the grandest WNBA stage.
It will be a best-of-seven series where the first team to win four games will win the title of 2024 WNBA champions. The first game of the series will be held at Barclays Center and will tip off at 8:00 p.m. ET.
